What the app stores

SolarCompanion stores the API token or login you enter for your inverter cloud account in your phone's secure storage (Keychain on iPhone). Readings from your system are kept on your phone for up to 14 days to draw charts and estimate battery runtime. You can clear them at any time in Settings.

Where your data goes

The app talks directly to your inverter manufacturer's official cloud (for example Growatt or Deye) to fetch your system's data. We do not run our own servers for your data, and we do not sell or share it with anyone.

Location

If you allow it, your approximate location is used on the device only to work out local sunrise, sunset and weather for the house view and widget.

Notifications

Alerts are generated on your phone from your system's data. No notification content is sent to us.
